Guide

Here is our idiots guide to downloading from Usenet/Newsgroups

Requirements:
- Usenet access (ISP or Premium service)
- Usenet/NNTP Client
- QuickPAR

Firstly you will require some access to Usenet. Most ISPs do have news servers but these are generally slow and with poor file retention. We recommend that you signup with a premium provider (a list can be found here). Most providers give free trials, so give that a try first.

Second you need a NNTP Client or reader (see here) within the client you will need to setup your server connection. This information will come either from your ISP or selected Premium provider.

Now your ready to download. Go to one of the sites (listed here), then find something to download. If setup correctly your Client/reader should start downloading.

Errors/Corrupt files.
If you recieve any errors or corrupted files, then these can be repaired with the PAR2 files (these are usually included within the NZB download.
Open the .PAR2 file with QuickPAR (some clients now have par support built in), then simply click repair. .PAR files can even sometimes rebuild entire missing .RAR files!
